United have agreed a deal believed to be in excess of €100m to sign Pogba, four years after he left Old Trafford for nothing following a contract dispute with the club.
Manchester United made the announcement on Sunday, saying “Paul Pogba has been granted permission to have a medical in order to finalise his transfer from Juventus to Manchester United”.
British media said United splashed out a world record fee of 89 million pounds ($115.98 million) on the 23-year-old, eclipsing the 100 million euros ($110.84 million) Real Madrid paid for Welshman Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013. “United is the flawless club to bring him to the level he wants to be”, the manager said after United’s 2-1 Community Shield win against Leicester City.
After departing the club for Juve in 2012, Pogba went on to become one of the most highly-rated players in the world while cementing his place in the France national team’s XI.
Now, as Pogba nears a big-money return to United, Ferdinand has used Facebook to post a lengthy tribute to the young dynamo. “He comes because he knows the club, knows the city, numerous players and wants to be an important part of the project”.
Ex-Valencia boss Neville added: “I think it is a big fee, but the Premier League was losing players left, right and centre to Spain, all the grade A players”.
The Express say that after being inundated with questions, the Manchester Airport Twitter account confirmed that it was indeed Pogba who was on the jet, while Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol also confirmed the player has arrived.

“When other people break records it’s not a reason to be sad, it’s a reason to be proud of the dimension of the club that can do that”. Although the club has received a substantial amount to give away his services, it is a formidable task to find a suitable replacement of Paul Pogba.
