The war of words has dominated United States headlines since last Thursday, when Pakistani immigrant Khizr Khan galvanized the Democratic National Convention with a tribute to his dead son in which he rebuked the Republican nominee for having “sacrificed nothing” for the country.

But when asked about Khizr Khan on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity”, Trump responded, “I guess it’s part of my life”.

Trump is a guy who shoots from the hip. But the bottom line is that Khan has his facts wrong.

Trump’s response? On Twitter, he said, “President Obama will go down as perhaps one of the worst president in the history of the United States!” We need fighters in this country.

Khan and his wife have both condemned Trump, saying he “knows nothing of sacrifice”.

“However, the Khan’s anger should be directed against those who sent their son into an unnecessary war, like Hillary Clinton and John McCain whose reckless policies and fuzzy Utopian ideals have destabilized the Middle East and triggered a massive refugee crisis, which they want to import into the U.S.to fatten up the welfare rolls”. Trump and Clinton spoke to the group’s national convention last week.

For some of Trump’s allies, the dispute is just the latest example of a troubling pattern: The real estate mogul hitting back at perceived slights or insults, regardless of the political implications.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina, said in a statement: “There used to be some things that were sacred in American politics-that you don’t do-like criticizing the parents of a fallen soldier even if they criticize you”. The celebrity billionaire also declared that Khan had no right to challenge Trump. John McCain, who Khan says was a source of encouragement for him during his son’s deployment.

“I like Paul, but these are awful times for our country”, Trump said of Ryan, who faces a challenge by a conservative insurgent in the August 9 Wisconsin primary.

Pence said much of the same media criticizing Trump earlier condemned Patricia Smith’s speech at the GOP convention about the USA information officer killed in the 2012 attack in Benghazi.

“The question that I think they have to ask themselves is, if you are repeatedly having to say in very strong terms that what he has said is unacceptable, why are you still endorsing him?” She probably – maybe she wasn’t allowed to have anything to say.

On Monday, Donald Trump announced in OH that his campaign raised about $35.8 million in July, much of it from more than a half-million small donations that averaged around $69 each.

Trump’s strategy of trying to muscle out any contradictory public figures is starting to show some cracks.
