Jose Mourinho: Manchester United is the ideal club for Paul Pogba

Cape Town – Paul Pogba is now flying to England to complete his multi-million pound deal with Manchester United.

A day on from United announcing the France midfielder had been granted permission to have the medical in order finalise the much-anticipated deal, Pogba entered the Aon Training Complex in Carrington in a red and black Chevrolet at around 12.15pm.

“Football is insane and the market has become insane”.

That is not to say that such a price tag won’t weigh heavily on a player who, on the evidence of his performances at Euro 2016, is not even the best in France – surely Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann deserves that accolade – let alone the world.

The current world record transfer fee is the 100 million euros Real Madrid paid to sign Wales forward Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.

Regarding Pogba, United boss Jose Mourinho said after Sunday’s Community Shield victory over Leicester: “United is the ideal club to bring him to the level he wants to be”.

“Here he has the conditions – the most seen championship worldwide which is absolutely incredible, with a team that wants to bring Man United to the top again”.

We know the reason he wants to come.

“We have everything to offer him and he is coming because he knows the club and the city and he wants to be a part of the Manchester United project”.

United have long accepted that a club of their status must pay a premium to attract the best players, a task made all the more hard this year by their failure to qualify for the Europe’s lucrative Champions League competition.

“If it goes well in the medical, which I think he will – I see on Instagram he does kung-fu, karate, running, basketball, football – everything, so he must be fit – on Tuesday I will be there waiting for him, if that is the situation for us”. What you think this season is insane, you realise that three years later it’s not insane any more.

“Money he would get at any big club”. I don’t know any more.

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri seemed resigned to losing Pogba, having previously claimed the player was due back at training on Monday. We need more weeks of work.

Juventus’ Serie A season begins a week after the Premier League, on 20 August, and they face West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday.

He will be Mourinho’s fourth summer signing since he succeeded Louis van Gaal as United manager following the arrivals of Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Old Trafford. “You have to speculate”.
