Lin and Chen posted an overall score of 496.98 to finish ahead of U.S. pair David Boudia/Steele Johnson (457.11) and Britain’s Thomas Daley/Daniel Goodfellow (444.45) in the final at the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre. “When it (the score) came up, I pounced on Dan and I don’t think he was quite ready for it, so before we knew it we had done a seventh dive”, said Daley. Lin and Huo Liang won the Olympic gold medal back in 2008, but gave way in 2012 to Cao Yuan and Zhang Yanquan, who won the London Olympics.

Lin Yue and Chen Aisen of China won gold medal with the score of 496.98.
