Money speaks louder than anything from a movie reviewer

Even though Suicide Squad has only recently released in theaters, it’s already time to start thinking about the upcoming Blu-ray release of the film later this year. Warner Bros. Batman v Superman went down in the numbers after its opening weekend, but still grossed a total of $872.2 million.

If true, one need only look at the history of past Batman film franchises to see where such a pattern is likely to lead. The opening weekend saw it take $135.1 million in the USA, breaking August box office records in the process, and a further $132 million around the world.

The re-visited Suicide Squad trailer promises more laughs. Not surprisingly, younger consumers were more receptive to the film’s charms than older moviegoers, with audiences under the age of 18 giving it an A rating.

With “Suicide Squad” stealing so much thunder, the week-old ‘Jason Bourne’ lost a lot of traction.

Suicide Squad has spawned a spinoff involving Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn and other female characters. To add to this, the film did $132 million overseas which brings it weekend debut to $267.1 million, which beat out what Deadpool did earlier this year. It’s made $103.4 million in two weeks for Universal.

Speaking on the future of any deleted Suicide Squad footage with Collider Monday, Ayer said fans will “maybe” get a glimpse of it when the film hits Blu-ray and VOD. “For any movie, that’s the most important aspect”.
