New Pokémon Go Update is Now Live

The Niantic executive John Hanke stated that the idea regarding the “Pokemon Go” contact lenses sounds really appealing.

Pokemon Go launched with a system to track what Pokemon are nearby your location, but that system broke shortly after the game launched.

This is certainly not a longterm replacement for the original tracking tool, but the new Sightings option is a step in the right direction.

Niantic Labs has re-instated the battery saver feature for Pokemon Go players on iOS with the game’s latest update, while also introducing a host of other changes for both Android and iOS users.

What are your thoughts on the new patch?

In the changelog for the iOS version of the app, Niantic lists this feature as “a variation of the “Nearby Pokémon” feature with a subset of users”. Does it change how you’ll use Pokemon GO?

Pokemon GO has rolled out a new update this morning with several massive new changes to the game.

Yes. We’re talking about the faulty “Nearby Pokemon” feature. The augmented-reality mobile game has been downloaded more than 75 million times, based on data from app intelligence firm Sensor Tower, even before the app’s debut in many countries. The reminder will appear if it detected that the player is moving above a certain speed and so you have to confirm that you are not driving to continue playing.

What’s more, Police in Singapore made a public announcement towards all Pokemon catchers out there: they shouldn’t play alone, on the streets, because they may put themselves in danger.

Instead of “nearby” feature has two sections the first one is “Sightings”.

We’ve tested it out to find out that it has been renamed to “Sightings” and some cool new grass visuals were added to the feature, although we haven’t exactly tested out how it works yet.

In a note alongside the update, Niantic said: “We’re now testing a variation of the “Nearby Pokémon” feature with a subset of users”.
