Cordell Broadus leaves UCLA program again

The on-again, off-again football career of Cordell Broadus, for now, is off.

He was not accidentally omitted.

Snoop Dogg’s son Cordell Broadus, a former high school football standout who quit the UCLA football team last August after committing to play at the school in February 2015, has reportedly made a decision to quit again after vowing to return to the team in March.

A year ago, many wondered about his absence from fall camp out in San Bernardino as it was said he was not in attendance due to personal issues. He wanted to focus on his studies at UCLA, specifically in film. He was one of the top high school wide receivers in the country and received a scholarship to play for UCLA’s football team past year. Bruins coach Jim Mora said Broadus is pursuing other passions, per Lindsey Thiry of The Los Angeles Times. Broadus worked with UCLA in the spring and even had a good showing at the Spring Showcase.

Apparently, that’s because he is no longer on the team.

But, if you went to campus this morning for the first session of UCLA Football Training Camp, his name was not listed on the roster, according to LA Daily News beat writer Thuc Nhi Nguyen.

Though he might not have seen time on the field this season, it is still an awkward situation. “It took me 12 years to realize he loves Cordell Broadus the person not Cordell Broadus the football player”.
