Coast Guard rescues man who went missing while kayaking

The Coast Guard said it had information that the boys may have told others through social media that they planned to travel to the Bahamas, but officials and family members say they’re not sure the objective of the boys’ trip and the destination. “We’re going to actively continue searching for them”.

The Coast Guard has scaled down their efforts as there has been no signs of the Florida missing teens.

Register volunteered to help after learning of the private search on Facebook.

The Coast Guard says it’ll keep looking up until it has faith there’s no decent ability the men may still show up active.

“We believe we reached the limit for our effective search and rescue efforts”, Fedor said. Hopes for survival now extend well beyond that estimate. The family of the missing teens shifted their own private search to high gear. A key difference from the Florida teens, though: They were still aboard their boat.

The boys were allowed to go fishing alone because they had spent much of their childhood on the water, their parents said. Have talked with them several times a day. Another Coast Guard patrol boat out of Bellingham joined in, as did a Seahawk helicopter from Naval Air Station Whidbey, along with responders from the Island County Sheriff’s Office and local fire departments, but those crews stood down about 5 p.m.

At 3:15 that afternoon, the National Wether Service issued a marine warning in advance of a brief but intense squall that moved over the water from on shore.

“Our community is incredibly grateful for the Cuttermen, Aviation Crewmembers, and Search and Rescue Planners of the Seventh Coast Guard District, who are scouring the Atlantic Coast for Austin and Perry”.
