Brewers GM Melvin stepping aside

Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that Brewers owner Mark Attanasio already has a list of names in mind for Melvin’s replacement, and will begin seeking permission to talk to candidates, though the team will use the search firm of Korn Ferry to help with the process.

The tweet said Melvin will transition into an advisory role with the club.

The move was announced on Twitter earlier today. He also said that even though manager Craig Counsell has a few years of front office experience, Attanasio still considers him the manager going forward.
