The heat wave outlined by Environment Canada is expected to start today and last through the week.

Friday the temperature is expected to top out at 34 degrees before the humidex.

The city’s acting medical officer of health has issued a heat warning for Toronto and the GTA as temperatures are set to soar into the 30s.

“Humidex values peaking in the upper 30s to low 40s are expected beginning Wednesday as well”, it said.

Torontonians enjoying a break from the recent heat and humidity be warned – another blast of scorching summer weather is on the way.

“Afternoon temperatures will reach the low-to-mid 30s, and early morning minimum temperatures may briefly reach the low 20s”, Environment Canada said.

Relief won’t come until sometime between Saturday and Sunday, when a cooler front is forecast to move in.
