According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Ball pleaded guilty to two charges of disorderly conduct and one charge of battery as part of two domestic abuse incidents.

Ball, who was waived by the Broncos prior to the 2015 regular season, has had a few run-ins with the law in the last few months. Then in March, he reportedly threw a cell phone and grabbed the neck of a woman that was not his girlfriend.

Ball will get work-release privileges during his jail sentence. Ball was ordered to serve two consecutive 3o-day sentences in prison and also received probation.

The woman alleged he choked her during an argument, which led to additional felony charges of strangulation and suffocation as well as substantial battery.

After the arrest, an ex-girlfriend came forward with accusations of domestic abuse dating back to 2014. The Patriots released Ball four days after his first arrest in April 2016. Ball was out on bail when he was found drinking at a bar, violating the terms of his bail. He was picked up by police in a Walworth County, Wisconsin, tavern with the “odor of intoxicants on his breath” despite his bond conditions stating he couldn’t consume alcohol.

Ball played his college football at Wisconsin where he still holds many rushing records. His playing career is over at 25 years old. In the span of two seasons in 2011 and 2012, Ball ran for 3,753 yards and 55 touchdowns. The Broncos chose him in the second round of the 2013 National Football League draft, but he was a disappointment, starting only three games in two years before he was released.
