Don’t laugh at Leicester City’s 40-point target – Ranieri

Zlatan Ibrahimovic announced his arrival in English football with an 83rd-minute victor as Manchester United edged Leicester City 2-1 at Wembley on Sunday to win the Community Shield, AFP reports.

Leicester’s England forward Jamie Vardy had equalised early in the second half after capitalising on a ugly lapse from Marouane Fellaini following Jesse Lingard’s superb solo opener for United just past the half-hour mark.

“At this moment we are not a super team, just a team with a super desire who want to work” he said.

“I would be not ambitious if I said it was a fantastic performance”.

The former Sweden worldwide couldn’t have asked for a better start at United as he scored an 83rd victor on his first official game for the club.

“It feels good to be in Manchester United and this is what counts”, Ibrahimovic explained to MUTV.

With Leicester City chasing the game, Mourinho valued a potential trophy over an unhappy Mata, saying “He played very well, he gave me exactly what I needed”.

“This is my 31st trophy”.

Former Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has discussed what he thinks of life so far at Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.

Another of United’s new signings, Eric Bailly, made an encouraging start, although he was regularly tested by Vardy.

Ibrahimovic, who scored in United’s friendly win over Galatasaray last month, and Jose Mourinho’s men open their Premier League campaign at Bournemouth on Sunday.

The 23-year-old was the hero of last year’s FA Cup final where he scored a goal in United’s triumph over Crystal Palace.

“In addition I dedicate it to the Manchester United players who were not involved in the game”.

Musa missed a great chance – a header from five meters out – before Ibrahimovic’s goal.

Mourinho was equally restrained in his praise for Ibrahimovic, who despite his victor, had a quiet game in attack for the Emirates FA Cup holders.

While the Shield is not always a reliable barometer of future success, United defender Blind is confident the first silverware of the Mourinho era can be the prelude to bigger prizes.
