Donald Trump, looking to right the ship, plans to endorse Paul Ryan

United States presidential candidate Donald Trump has publicly backed House Speaker Paul Ryan days after snubbing him in a spat at the top of the Republican Party.

“We will have disagreements, but we will disagree as friends and never stop working together toward victory”, Donald Trump said.

The US Republican presidential candidate had previously refused to endorse Mr Ryan and the change of hear appears to be an attempt to reclaim lost ground with the party establishment.

“Moving forward, as a veteran and someone who knows firsthand the cost of war, I am going to continue to push for an end to counterproductive interventionist wars and lead our country toward a path toward peace”, Gabbard said.

Trump had balked at endorsing Ryan on Tuesday in an interview with The Washington Post, a move that intensified concerns about his presidential campaign within the GOP as Trump already faced controversy over his criticism over the weekend of the parents of an American soldier killed in combat. “To restore our country and home and overseas, we need new leadership, and I’m looking forward to standing should to shoulder with Donald Trump to drive that new leadership forward”. “I’m not quite there yet”, Trump said at the time.

Ryan’s opponent, Wisconsin businessman and inventor Paul Nehlen, issued a statement Friday suggesting that Trump’s endorsement Friday is out of party obligation, not a true preference of Ryan over him.

“Donald Trump is a threat to the survival of the Republic”, the Harvard Republicans wrote in a post to Medium announcing their decision not to endorse. Having the wildly unpopular Trump endorse vulnerable incumbent senators in swing states could be one one of the biggest blunders of the entire year. For example, on Monday, Arizona Senator John McCain released a statement saying, “I can not emphasize enough how deeply I disagree with Mr. Trump’s statement [about the Khan family]”.

It was the same phrase used by Mr Ryan before he finally endorsed the Republican presidential candidate.

“The effect Trump is having on down-ballot races has the potential to be devastating in November”, a Florida Republican added.

Trump endorsed Ryan for re-election at a Green Bay, Wisconsin, rally on Friday.

“In Wisconsin, we stand with Paul Ryan, and when you go after him, we’re gonna side with our home state guy”, Representative Sean Duffy said. Neither was Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, whom he defeated in the primaries, or Sen.

“Honestly, the endorsement that I personally care about is from the people here in Wisconsin, my 1st Congressional District employers”, Ryan told the local radio station.

He also inflamed some Republicans by refusing to endorse U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan in his re-election bid.

The IBD/TIPP Poll results also show that while Clinton succeeded in improving her image with the public at the Democratic National Convention the last week of July, Trump failed to improve his at the GOP convention.

“I take this seriously, don’t doubt that.it doesn’t make me feel good”, Clinton said.
