Democrat Hillary Clinton will participate in the three presidential debates as scheduled, her campaign said Monday in response to complaints from Republican Donald Trump that the dates are unsuitable.
Anti-Trump conservatives say they’ve found an alternative to the real estate mogul to run for president, and a number of leading Republican national security officials say they want nothing to do with Trump.
While polls have shown that voters have deep concerns about Trump’s temperament and fitness for office, recent polling puts him ahead of or on par with his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, on who people trust on the economy.
“Those signing the letters served in the White House in eras stretching from Richard Nixon to the second George W. Bush administration”, notes the Wall Street Journal.
Trump immediately dismissed the letter as the “politically-motivated” work of the architects of many “disastrous” foreign policy decisions.
He didn’t say which people he meant.
Trump issued a sharply worded reprimand of the group, painting them as “nothing more than the failed Washington elite looking to hold onto their power” and saying they should be “held accountable” for making the world less safe.
Speaking to the Detroit Economic Club, Trump promised to provide deep tax cuts, and to jolt middle class workers back to prosperity.
“Donald Trump on trade treaties claims that he can renegotiate them and get different outcomes, but he has never said exactly what he is going to try to do”, said Mishel.

Trump isn’t the first to suggest there could be a link between Clinton’s emails on her private server and the execution of Shahram Amiri.
