While some “Pokemon Go” players have fallen victim to robberies, the suspect didn’t take any of Riley’s possessions after he shot him to death at the ‘Poke stop’.

A 20-year-old college student lost his life this past weekend playing Pokemon Go in San Francisco..

The gunman, who is now unknown at this time did not rob Riley of any of his possessions according to Sgt. Robert Jansing, a detective for the US Park Police. “There’s a good chance someone saw something”, Jansing said.

The shooting occured late night and even though several people were still at the park, there were no witnesses believed to have seen the gunman. He’d learned of the shooting from a friend who was staying nearby and had heard gunshots the night before.

The waterfront park, part of the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, is a popular location with locals and tourists alike, and violent incidents there are unusual.

Family members have set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for the funeral costs. Players can be sucked into the whimsical digital world and partially tune out to their surroundings.

The USPP did not return a BuzzFeed News request for comment and the San Francisco Police Department declined to comment.

Investigators did not say whether the game may have been a factor in Saturday’s killing.

Calvin was a resident of San Mateo, Calif., and a graduate of Junipero Serra High School.

Reed Peters, head coach of the San Joaquin Delta College Mustangs, said Calvin Riley had a shot at the pros, fondly recalling how the team’s star closer would strut out of the bullpen emulating former Red Sox pitcher Jonathan Papelbon while listening to the Dropkick Murphys’ “I’m Shipping Up to Boston”. He was a fun-loving teammate that players loved to be around. It has already raised almost $45,000 in a single day. “It’s just really hard right now”.

“He was the guy you wanted to have the ball in his hand when it meant the most”, Peters said. It’s shocking that something like this would happen to him.
