West Ham United have completed the signing of forward Andre Ayew from Swansea City for a club record fee.

He said: “I am very proud and happy to be at this magnificent Club”.

“We are very close to signing André Ayew from Swansea and we are very close to signing Arthur Masuaku, the French left back from Olympiakos”.

The Ghana worldwide did not feature in Swansea’s friendly against Stade Rennais last weekend, when new striker Fernando Llorente made his debut.

He becomes West Ham’s seventh signing of the summer, and indeed their second in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Andy Carroll scored his first goals at the London Stadium as the Hammers officially marked the opening of their new ground against Italian champions Juve.

“I know what he did last season and he can do even more, so now I’m back with him we’re going to work together with the whole team and do everything possible to make things right”, he added. Ayew is brilliant technical player, able to find space in tight defences and jink past opponents.

The only big name departure has been that of James Tomkins who left for another London based club Crystal Palace.

West Ham is also competing in the Europa League, so Bilic will use plenty of players on four different fronts, and will apparently set his priorities on the Premier League. The squad is deep and talented, the manager is beloved and thriving in the Premier League, and, in case you had not heard, they have got Dimitri Payet. “When I was 18, my target was to come here, so now I am here, I have to prove myself to the fans and to the team so that I can play for this big Club”.

Aaron Cresswell – who has missed only two league games for West Ham over the last two seasons – was injured badly in a friendly last month and will be out for up to four months.
