Meant leaves United Kingdom football team for “personal reasons”

“Right now we got a collaboration of guys (to replace Meant), we’ve developed three new starts every year we’ve been here so here is just another opportunity for some other guys”, defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh said.

Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops announced today that the Cats will be without defensive tackle Regie Meant for the foreseeable future as he’s left the team to deal with personal matters. “It has to do with himself”, Stoops said. Jordan needs to work on that discipline. “I couldn’t tell you at this time”. Stoops was unsure whether Meant – who had 31 tackles and a sack last season – will return to the team, leaving it to those previously behind him on the depth chart to step up.

And here’s the best news for United Kingdom on a day of negative developments: No significant injuries to report through three practices.

“It is a blow to us and our depth on the d-line”.

Coach Brumbaugh spoke highly of Bell, saying that he is “night and day” from where he was as a player past year and also said that Courtney Miggins is “stepping up”. “We’ll bring some guys along”. They’re what you want and what you look for.

“Kengera needs to really develop”. We have one in this group. “He’s a guy that needs to step up and improve”, Stoops said.

“I don’t know”, he said. “I’m excited about him”. “He may not be the most talented defensive lineman but he’s a great leader in that group”, Stoops said.

A strong summer apparently made the start of camp much smoother than in the first three seasons under Stoops. Both sides did some good things. “It was a good, competitive practice”.

Stoops also stated that he thinks the team is practicing “efficiently” on both sides of the ball in comparison to previous seasons.
