And I was with him in hospital the last time I saw him, and we were laughing and joking and he said, ‘You should do ‘ Big Brother ‘. I’m really looking forward to it. Get Me Out of Here star praised Biggins and described him as one of the “nicest, kindest, most open-minded people”.
Christopher was the bookies’ favourite to win this year’s season of the hit Channel 5 TV show before he was removed from the house.
“I commend the leadership shown by Channel 5 in moving quickly to ensure that bigoted views do not have an outlet, particularly in an entertainment programme followed by millions of younger people across the country”, said Board vice president Marie van der Zyl.
Despite the fact that the costume was for a documentary, an insider was quick to criticise Biggins, tellingThe Sun: ‘Biggins didn’t seem to mind dressing as a Nazi at all, and didn’t question the morality of it.
But Katie Waissel’s mother, Diana, said she was deeply hurt by Biggins’s words.
“We will assess these complaints before deciding whether to investigate or not”.
“Your comment was plainly capable of causing offence to Katie and the viewing public”, Big Brother told Biggins.
He said: “They were offensive and we are glad that he has apologised for them”.
‘Before I went into the house, my partner Neil and I were talking about it because we just feel the whole scenario of the Jewish annihilation is so horrific that we wanted to experience it for ourselves.
Mr Biggins was due to appear on ITV’s This Morning show, on Monday but the appearance was cancelled.
