Following much speculation, it is West Ham United who have been able to secure the services of Ayew after agreeing a £20.5 million fee with Swansea, and while the fans would have been left disappointed to see their star leave, they can be consoled by the fact that the club made a huge profit on the striker.

He side: ‘I am so pleased to announce the transfer of outstanding Ghana forward Andre Ayew for a Club-record £20.5M fee’. “I am happy to be playing for these fans and I hope to make the people very happy here”, Ayew told the club’s official website.

“They want to become a bigger club every year and with the new Stadium and a new training ground, you can feel they are moving onto another level and I want to be part of this project”, Ayew said.

Now, here’s quite a lethal pairing [Ayew and Dimitri Payet] reunited at West Ham to rip up the English Premier League this season.

The 23-year-old striker scored 18 goals in 34 appearances for La Liga minnows Eibar last season and is due for a medical with the Welsh side in the coming days.

West Ham have had a busy summer bringing in the likes of Sofiane Feghouli, Arthur Masuaku, Havard Nordtveit, Manuel Lanzini as well as Gokhan Tore on loan from Besiktas.
