FBI chief calls for national talk over encryption vs. safety
FBI Director James Comey confirmed during his congressional testimony that Hillary Clinton lied to the American people on multiple occasions regarding the use of her private email server.

Kaine defended her on “Meet the Press” and suggested that Wallace and Clinton were talking past each other during the interview.
“I was pointing out in both of those instances that Director Comey had said that my answers in my Federal Bureau of Investigation interview were truthful”, she told reporters in Washington.
After more than 200 days without holding a formal news conference, Hillary Clinton took her most extensive questions from journalists in months on Friday – and it wasn’t so bad after all.
“I am not presumptuous enough to start thinking about how I’m going to do things after November”, Kaine said when asked if he and Clinton would be more transparent in the White House.
Clinton was referring to FBI Director James Comey’s comments that she did not lie when questioned by the FBI.
SEN. TREY GOWDY, R-S.C., CHAIR, BENGHAZI COMMITTEE: Secretary Clinton said there was nothing marked classified on her e-mails either sent or received. “I may have short circuited it”, Clinton said in response to a question at the National Association of Black Journalists-National Association of Hispanic Journalists Convention on Friday.
The recent terming of the Democratic nominee and former Secretary of State of a “short-circuit” seems only the most recent example of an artistic manner in which to claim no wrongdoing. “She said, ‘there was no classified material'”.
Tonight, the latest back-and-forth over Hillary Clinton’s private e-mail server.
She later shifted her explanation to say she never sent or received “any emails marked classified at the time”.
“The GOP presidential nominee jumped on Clinton’s recent remarks that she had “short-circuited” when misspeaking about the FBI’s probe into her email server”.
“You know, I never understood how that guy, (fictional District Attorney) Hamilton Burger, kept getting re-elected”, Pirro said.
Trump, as he does, began experimenting with his attacks on Twitter, posting increasingly unhinged-sounding suggestions about Clinton’s mental fitness.
In fact, she’s further obfuscated her position. The new lie is central to her hopes to succeed President Obama – who himself still insists that planeload of cash to Iran wasn’t a ransom payment to win the release of Americans held hostage. Even though Wallace was clearly asking Clinton whether she had been truthful with the American public, she chose to answer a different question: whether she had lied in her interview with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. “America is better than Donald Trump”.
So there you have it. Annenberg Fact Check, CNN, the Washington Post, the Associated Press and even Politifact-none of them what you would call right-wing publications-agree Hillary has been very misleading in her statements.

Kaine was also pressed on a major split on the Democratic ticket: While both Clinton and Kaine have urged Congress to approve a new authorization of the use of military force against ISIS, Clinton has said it’s not legally necessary, while Kaine has asserted it is.
