Lawsuit filed to make Pokémon Go away

Niantic is now working on a better Pokemon tracking system.

In the recent game update, the “Pokemon Go” tracking option was taken out completely and was replaced with a list of nearby Pokemon creatures without distances indicated.

It seems Pokémon Go users can’t seem to catch a break lately.

Niantic explained on the official Pokemon Go website that blocking the third parties who were accessing their servers freed up a lot of resources.

Now, Niantic is finally communicating with players. A updates issued late last week saw the removal of the game’s 3-Step system, the shutdown of third-party Pokémon Go sites created to help players hunt down pocket monsters, balance changes to some of the game’s top creatures and more. But at the same time, server woes and bugs continue to plague the game, frustrating players in the process.

The team stated that they removed the 3-step system to “improve upon the underlying design”.

As for third-party support, Niantic has confirmed that stopping sites like PokeVision from working was intentional, as the developer felt that they were hindering their “ability to maintain quality of service”.

“The original feature, although enjoyed by many, was also confusing and did not meet company’s underlying product goals”, they stated, adding that they would keep users posted as they strive to improve this aspect.

The company also addressed the games roll out which seems to have stopped nearly immediately after its launch in Japan, though according to the post, Niantic are working hard to make it happen.

The CEO also has a message for those still angry there’s no easy way to track down Pokemon in the wild.

Although we’d expect radio silence with this sort of thing from Niantic, they have not only publicly confirmed the unreleased Articuno is real, but that it was issued in error.
