‘Blue Dragon’ confirmed for backward compatibility
Blood Dragon first launched on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in 2013, the game was praised for its lovable retro style that combined the best of Far Cry with cheesy 1960 sci-fi flicks in the most hilarious kind of way, yet some performance issues did hold it down. Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb took to Twitter to announce the newest addition. Microsoft today added Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon as an Xbox One Backward Compatibility title.

Currently, these are the latest games that have arrived on the Xbox One backwards compatibility feature. If you dont already own the game you can still buy it on your Xbox 360 or on Xbox.com and then it will become available in your Ready to Install section.
While Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon was a standalone thing for Far Cry 3 exclusively, it did get a sequel (despite Ubisoft saying that it wouldn’t) and crossover with Trials: Fusion in the form of Trials of the Blood Dragon, a game that focuses around Rex’s children Slayter and Roxanne as they try to rescue Rex from the Vietnamese. However, it’s only $15 if you don’t.

The Xbox head may have not directly stated when “Blue Dragon” can be expected by players, but he did confirm indirectly that the title will indeed be arriving on the Xbox One Backward Compatibility program. The three new titles are among the classic games for the previous-gen Xbox console, as the two titles from Bandai Namco were released in 2006 and 2008. There are now no new titles for the Xbox One Backward Compatibility feature, but Microsoft has promised an unscheduled release of such titles, so players can expect as much. Those players who missed playing “Blue Dragon” in their home consoles but are now owning the latest Xbox device can experience the fun once again with its new and improved format applicable for Xbox One.
