Republican fundraiser Meg Whitman endorses Hillary Clinton

In a Facebook post last night, Ms. Whitman called out Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for having an “authoritarian character”.

Trump wrote on Twitter: “There is great unity in my campaign, perhaps greater than ever before”. The aide said congressional offices that support Trump got two sets of talking points on Monday (Tuesday NZT) from the campaign about the Khan situation but have not heard anything from the campaign about Trump’s Ryan comments. John McCain in their respective primaries. If the president’s ratings hold, this is a positive sign for her party and campaign.

Manafort says of Trump’s spat with the family: “We’ve put it behind us”.

Another prominent Republican and business leader has come out strongly against Donald Trump.

“The campaign’s focused and the campaign is moving forward in a positive way”, Manafort told Fox. She has close ties to Republican nominee Mitt Romney and raised significant funds for his 2008 run for the White House.

Republicans said that Clinton’s history and high negative numbers among Republicans make it unlikely she’ll find many cross-over voters.

It’s not all bad news for Donald Trump.

Clinton has chosen Kaine to be her running mate. When we pressed Congressman Dent about who he will vote for in November for president, he said right now he’s leaning toward former Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus backs Trump, but on Wednesday Priebus was being described as “incredibly upset” that the NY real estate mogul refused to endorse Ryan’s congressional re-election campaign. He has also proposed renegotiating trade treaties, opening up to Russian Federation, revamping NATO and has suggested Japan and South Korea should get nuclear weapons.

When Donald Trump cried foul over what he describes as a “rigged” electoral system, his loosely defined claims challenged the essence of America’s democratic process and more than 200 years of peaceful transfers of power from one president to the next.

Opinion polls have shown Clinton benefiting from a boost after her party’s convention last week.

“Those people that knocked down the World Trade Center most likely, under the Trump policy, wouldn’t have been here to knock down the World Trade Center”, Trump said, referring to his contentious “Muslim Ban”.
