I was destined to return to Manchester United, says Paul Pogba

Former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier feels Jose Mourinho will have to play a key role in helping Paul Pogba to deal with the pressure of being the most expensive player in world football.

Pogba’s fee eclipses the £85m that Real Madrid paid Tottenham for Wales forward Gareth Bale in 2013.

“I am delighted to rejoin United”, Pogba told Manchester United’s official website.

Asked what he liked about new record signing Paul Pogba and what his best qualities are, Mourinho changed the topic to criticism of the deal, saying: “I like everything”.

FC’s Alison Bender and Stu Holden break down the Paul Pogba move and whether the hefty price tag will be worth it.

“That’s why the words of the coach become important”.

Writing in a series of Instagram posts, he said: “It is hard to explain so much in a few lines but I made a decision guided by my heart and nothing else”.

“He will have to depend on the club and their atmosphere”.

Embarrassingly for City, the club was beaten to the announcement of its latest high-profile signing by UEFA, which listed Stones in the English team’s squad for the Champions League playoff round about 45 minutes before City tweeted the center back had joined.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Juventus and have some fantastic memories of a great club with players that I count as friends. Hopefully it will come but first I have to win the Premier League”. This a very special place for me and I’m really enthusiastic to work with Jose Mourinho.

When then asked what he felt he could achieve in his career, Pogba said: “I want to win the league for the first time with United, because I hadn’t won the league when I left”.

Speaking ahead of Tuesday’s European Supercup game against Sevilla in Trondheim, Zidane told a news conference that he wished the player good luck. “I didn’t finish what I started here so I think I came here to finish it”.

“At 23, he has the chance to make that position his own here over many years”. Mourinho, in an interview, said that the Frenchman could be the heart of the team for the next decade. And yes, that’s a world record.
