I wish Pogba all the best at Manchester United – Zidane

Jose Mourinho has had another dig at Arsene Wenger and Jurgen Klopp, suggesting they are not at clubs big enough to make a signing like Manchester United’s world-record £89million capture of Paul Pogba. “I didn’t finish what I started here so I think I came here to finish it”.

Manager Jose Mourinho said the France global could be “the heart of the club” for the next decade. “But I feel the time is right to go back to Old Trafford”, Pogba told the club’s official website.

And the former Chelsea boss believes Pogba, who will wear the United number six shirt worn in the past by the greats like Rio Ferdinand, Jaap Stam and Nobby Stiles, can help him achieve that aim.

It is 20 years since an English club paid a world-record fee, with Blackburn spending 15 million pounds to sign Alan Shearer.

He becomes Manchester United’s fourth summer signing, after the arrivals of Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

United were concerned about a repeat of their tug-of-war with Real before the Spain goalkeeper signed a new deal a year ago, but are now confident De Gea will stay at Old Trafford.

Pogba made 124 appearances for Juventus in 4 seasons, scoring 28 goals on his way to winning four Scudettos, two Coppa Italias, one Supercopa Italiana and reached the final of the UEFA Champion’s League in 2015.

The 23-year old France global rejoins the English club, which he left in 2012, from Italian side, Juventus, for a fee of £89.3 million ($116.4 million). I enjoyed the time I spent at Juventus.

“Paul is one of the best players in the world and will be a key part of the United team I want to build here for the future”, Mourinho said.

“He gave me energy, he gave me positivity”, said Pogba. He praised Pogba by calling him one of the better readers of the game.

“He’s a very young player, an unbelievable midfield player with such physicality but, at the same time, such agility, co-ordination, skill. I will bring with me a piece of you and leave you a little piece of me”.

Mourinho’s reign got off to a successful start Sunday as Ibrahimovic scored the victor in a 2-1 victory over Premier League champions Leicester City in the Community Shield.
