A son torched a Ferrari, which was a gift from his father, because he wanted an upgrade.

Despite being only 20-years-old, the young man also owned several properties totalling £17 million and 15 cars – including a Lamborghini.
The salesman of the dealership hatched a plan to have insurance pay out a claim on the damaged vehicle so the spoilt kid could get a newer model.
According to German publication 20 minutes, the Swiss millionaire’s son and three accomplices burned out his Ferrari 458 Italia in March of a year ago. The quote he received was $193,500, which wasn’t enough to cover the cost of the new model. It was then that the dealer allegedly suggest he destroy his vehicle for the insurance money, which was higher than the quoted value. However, security camera footage and telephone recordings led to a prompt arrest of those involved.
While prosecutors wanted him to serve jail time, a judge opted for 22 months’ probation with a monetary fine of 32,000 francs.
His three accomplices were given probation orders between 14 and 16 months each.
The 458 Italia performs 0-60 miles per hour acceleration in less than 3.4 seconds; 202 miles per hour top speed; 12 mpg city and 18 mpg highway.
This simply shows that the 458 Speciale’s engine is the most powerful naturally aspirated V-8 ever launched in a Ferrari road auto.

Asked why he carried out the plan, the man said that he didn’t have the heart to tell his father he didn’t like the Ferrari.
