After it was all said and done Packers fans reflected on Brett Favre’s career and explained what he meant to the Packers and how he helped put Green Bay back on the map.
But it was Favre’s recollections of his relationship with his father, Irv, which truly struck a chord with everyone, particularly the males in attendance or watching from afar.
In 2002, he set the National Football League record with 143 catches and totalled 1,722 yards and 11 touchdowns. He had eight consecutive seasons with at least 1,100 yards receiving for Indianapolis.
Harrison played all 13 of his seasons with the Colts and finished with 1,102 receptions, 14,580 yards and 128 touchdowns.
He came full circle Saturday.
I wanted to find out why it was there and got reaction from fans.
“What makes me most proud is how I played the game”.
Favre played 20 seasons and was selected to play in 11 Pro Bowls.
Colts owner Jimmy Irsay presented Harrison, 43, for induction. “He was a wolf in sheep’s clothing”.
Pace, who spoke next, was one of the unsung heroes during the St. Louis Rams’ Greatest Show on Turf era.
A second-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in the 1991 NFL Draft, the former Southern Miss quarterback was traded to the Packers a year later. He never told his father he heard his dad’s remark, but it stuck with him.
“My goal has always been to be the very best I can be. not simply in football but in life”.
Before we get to the official preseason games, however, we’ve got Hall of Fame weekend to enjoy. You’re the best. That was awesome.
Always a showman who also spent some time as a professional wrestler, Greene usually found the path to quarterbacks. Two years after that first playoff appearance, Favre won the first of three straight NFL MVP awards to become the first player in NFL history to win the award in three straight seasons. “Seeing all these people has me going again”. No, all of those times it was just about loving football. I am sure that all the fans can most certainly agree. “This is pretty cool”. Stabler also helped deliver the franchise its first Super Bowl win in 1976. One of the first great left-handed pro QBs, Stabler, who died a year ago, was elected by the seniors committee.
You can watch speeches and presentations of the 2016 Pro Football Hall of Fame class below.
“Whatever the thing was, that focus, concentration, competiveness, he could just step up a notch when you needed it”, Madden said. Add in his spirit, competitive fire and fun-loving attitude, and he was such a slam dunk in his first year of eligibility that his candidacy wasn’t even discussed by the selection committee in February. They’re not only awesome coaches, but they’re great guys.
Dungy, who played three seasons in the National Football League before becoming a coach, spent his first two years with the Pittsburgh Steelers and his final year with the 49ers in 1979 when DeBartolo was the owner.
And that victory in Oakland was about more than winning one for dad. “Make no mistake about it, I will be remembered as a Packer”. “To share this stage with these gentlemen is more than humbling”. “I think we could use a little bit more of that sense of duty to one another and that sense of responsibility for one another”.

DeBartolo Jr., who owned the San Francisco 49ers during their dynasty years in the 1980s, was the only honoree who did not play in the NFL.
