Emirates confirmed that flight EK521 with 282 passengers and 18 crew members on board was involved in an accident at Dubai worldwide airport.

Amateur video taken inside a crashed Emirates Boeing 777 shows chaos as passengers try to grab their luggage from overhead compartments while one woman, apparently a flight attendant, shouts at them to evacuate the plane.

Dubai International Airport was closed for a few hours following the emergency, with several flights cancelled, delayed or diverted.

Meanwhile, Dubai Airports said more than 230 flights were cancelled due to the Emirates plane incident.

“23,000 Emirates passengers impacted by the disruption”. “To avoid inconvenience Dubai Airports urges passengers flying out of DXB or DWC to check with their airlines for updated flight times before leaving for the airport”.

“We can confirm that there are no fatalities among our passengers and crew”.

“There have been accidents where 777s have been very badly damaged during a landing and yet we haven’t had a fire like that”, he said.

The Boeing 777 departed Thiruvananthapuram at 10:19 a.m. and was scheduled to land at 12:50 p.m. local time, according to Emirates.

A day after 300 people had a narrow escape as an Emirates flight burst into flames after landing at Dubai airport, officials and security experts are investigating the cause for the accident.

Flight attendants are heard yelling at passengers to “leave your bags behind!”.

All passengers and crew members were evacuated safely.
