PM’s comments came on Tuesday during a preparatory meeting for the UN General Assembly’s (UNGA) session starting on September 13.

The meeting observed that “Kashmir remains an unfinished agenda of the United Nations and accordingly India must realise that Kashmir is not its internal matter, rather it is a matter of regional and worldwide concern”.
“The situation is a clear manifestation of Indian state terrorism to suppress the Kashmiris struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination”.
Many innocent Kashmiris had lost their eyesight due to pellet guns, which were aimed with the deliberate intention of causing serious permanent injuries.
The Prime Minister said that force was being used to prevent access to hospitals, to harass doctors and prevent access to medical facilities.
Prime Minister Sharif called for investigation into the “brutalities and atrocities” committed by Indian forces, protection of Kashmiris’ fundamental rights, a fair inquiry into the killing of Hizbul commander Burhan Wani and implementation of United Nations resolutions. “In Kashmir, it is a mass movement for our right to self-determination”, Mirwaiz Omar Farooq said. “Kashmir is non-negotiable so Kashmir and its welfare should also be non-negotiable”, O’Brien added.
Since his killing on July 8, thousands of Kashmiris, many of them still in their teens, have flooded the streets, defying a curfew that has stretched over 31 days in the valley.
Nawaz Sharif addressed a meeting of his ministers today.
“Some want destruction over development in Kashmir”, Modi said.
Modi referred to the distress of a country at “young men clutching stones instead of books and computers”; the majority of the protesters in Kashmir are between 16 and 18; for years, as the unrest has spread, stones have instigated disproportionate retaliation. During a controversial trip to Pakistan last week, Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke of the perils of eulogising terrorists as martyrs, taking on Islamabad for the tributes its leaders have offered to Wani after he was killed.
“Being blinded has severe consequences for the victims and their families”.
Pakistan says it provides moral and political support to Kashmiris, but denies India’s assertions of arming rebels.

Despite several setbacks on the global platform, Pakistan has once again taken up the Kashmir agenda.
