America wipes away tears after Brett Favre’s Hall of Fame speech
For all his faults, Favre was an “every-man” type football star.

They came in No. 4 jerseys and wearing cheeseheads.
“Ariana has demonstrated to her peers, teachers and coaches that she understands both the core of the Army ethos – she never accepts defeat and quitting is never an option – but also the Army values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage”, said Mark Davis, deputy assistant secretary of the Army for marketing. His struggles and triumphs made many football aficionados (myself included) feel like Favre was one of us-even though he wasn’t. In each game, Southern Miss was hopelessly outmanned at every position except one – quarterback.
That’s why Wolf ranked Favre as the No. 1 player in the 1991 National Football League draft – Favre was picked early in the second round, No. 33 overall – and why he made trading for the raw yet physically gifted quarterback his No. 1 priority after taking over the Packers later that year.
On Saturday Night, eight players and coaches were inducted in this year’s Hall of Fame for 2016. He said he wouldn’t be where he is without him, and after choking up multiple times, he said, “This is tougher than any third-and-15 I’ve ever faced”. “Look what he did here”. Peyton Manning eventually surpassed some of Favre’s records, but no one could match his charisma or fan appeal.
Brett Favre, welcome to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. “You know it’s not all Wisconsin folks here”. Heck, most of the time he didn’t know what he was going to do.
Favre talked about the December 22, 2003, game when he played the Oakland Raiders the day after his father’s death. Always, however, the good far outweighed the bad with Favre. He is denim as much as he is green and gold. In 2002, he set the National Football League record with 143 catches and totaled 1,722 yards and 11 touchdowns.
When other players vacationed on tropical islands throughout the world, Favre was nestled in a tree stand with a 6-pack of beer in one hand, and a hunting rifle in the other.
“To have a victor like that they won the Super Bowl with Brett I was at every home game preseason postseason and even the return to title town”, said Packers fan Nick Brandl.
The one thing that I am really confused about is why the Denver Broncos only have four players in the Hall of Fame. That’s why he made some of those insane plays that he made. The Packers were playing the Raiders.
Of course, Favre didn’t change the course of Packers history by himself. Still, it was Favre’s unbridled passion and personal competitiveness that pulled it all together.
What I will remember most, however, was his sincerity in sharing a story about his high school coach, who happened to be his father. “All at once, Green Bay became big on television and big across the country”. To share in that joy with you guys tonight, what an incredible night, what an incredible week. “And Brett’s down-home attitude just appealed to everybody”.
Favre is now a Hall of Famer having been inducted on Saturday night. He was beyond unsophisticated when he arrived in Green Bay, but Holmgren, a quarterbacks guru, helped him find the proper balance between sticking with the plan and taking chances. That was Favre as a professional quarterback, the ultimate freelancer.

“He was everything and became everything that I envisioned”, Wolf said.
