Two law enforcement officers have been shot near Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Officers have identified the shooting suspect, although the person’s name was not released, according to KHBS.
A person who answered the phone at the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office declined to provide further information on the incident and told FoxNews.com that the department was “under emergency”.
The shooting happened in Sebastian County, Arkansas at 7.15am local time this morning.
Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said his agency is assisting but he referred all questions to Sebastian County authorities.
It is not clear whether the suspect was involved in a confrontation with police prior to firing the shots or what the possible motive for the shooting could be.
