According to Entertainment Weekly, “Gotham” executive producer John Stephens addressed at the Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour on Monday the possible appearances of the “Suicide Squad” villains in Season 3 of the “Batman” prequel. “We’ll be seeing proto-versions of some of those characters”.

Live action versions of Killer Croc and Harley Quinn just hit the big screen in Suicide Squad, and if Gotham has its way, they could come to television as well. “And we’ll be seeing a character, perhaps not this season but in times to come, who can be a forerunner of Harley Quinn which will be fun”.

For the proto-Killer Croc, Stephens teased that it’s not necessarily the character from the film, but heading in that direction.

With the massive success Suicide Squad is now having in theaters, it appears Gotham might be taking a page out of their book. Although there are some debates regarding the state of Suicide Squad, the positives include everyone’s favorite insane, Harleen Quinzel AKA “Harley Quinn”. “We really imagined developing the myth of the Joker at the same time we’re developing the myth of Batman”, Stephens said. We wanted to stretch that over multiple seasons. Jerome, the troubled young man who becomes a homicidal maniac, shares many characteristics with the Joker, but producers won’t reveal whether or not Jerome becomes the Joker. “In the course of this year, we’re going to see how the cult of the Joker… is going to extend and deepen and change”.

Also, Stephens adds that season 3 of Gotham will look more into the escaped “monsters” that have taken refuge in the city.
