Google launches Android Experiments website, shows off open source Android and
To show how Android is progressing as a platform, Google has launched Android Experiments, a gallery of projects it hopes will show how users are innovating with the platform.

Another, called IOIO Plotter, is an Android tablet app that converts photos from the tablet’s camera into abstract drawings using physical markers suspended from strings.
The site Android Experiments is showcasing Android apps that perform novel and unusual functions.
Once you log onto the official website of the service, right on top, you will see the highlighted apps for the day.
The apps already selected employ various programming systems, including Unity, Processing and Cinder. It can be tough for an app to stand out in a crowded application store, especially one as crowded as Google Play or the App Store, but Google’s new Android Experiments effort can help shine a light on unique apps that might not have otherwise been discovered. Below this you will be able to see the full list of the innovative developer modules that Google thinks are worth showcasing.

There are also apps for smartwatches running Google’s Android Wear software. Google suggests that these “experiments” celebrate creativity and code on Android – and they’ve got the hand-picked collection credentials to prove it. Every app in the Android Experiments gallery has been chosen by Google specifically because they embody the aim of this project. All the requirements can be found on the submissions page, but the biggest ones include that, as alluded to above, eligible apps need to “explore how we interact with our devices, in small and big ways”.
