Gov. Christie: I Won’t Be ‘Critical’ of Gold Star Family
Kooyenga’s comments came in response to Trump’s recent exchange with Khizr and Ghazala Khan, parents of Humayun Khan, a U.S. Army soldier of Pakistani descent who died in combat in Iraq in 2004.

Trump indicated that Ghazala Khan, a Muslim, remained silent during Khizr Khan’s speech because she was forbidden by her husband to speak, a claim she disputed in a piece published in the Washington Post.
In an interview with Al Jazeera’s Mehdi Hasan, the host of UpFront, Khizr Khan condemned the Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, and Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, for failing to withdraw their endorsement of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. But they turned against her when she asked the following question: “Time and time again Trump has disrespected our nation’s armed forces and veterans – and his disrespect for Mr. Khan and his family is just an example of that”, Byrne said. He also asked Trump what sacrifice he has made for the U.S. and asked him to visit Arlington cemetery and see for himself how many immigrants have sacrificed their lives for their adopted homeland. Let us know what you think by taking our poll, commenting on the story and joining the conversation on Facebook! “I assure you. The moral dilemma in his candidacy is coming full circle”. “And we need to honor their sacrifice for our country, and we need to honor their son’s sacrifice for our country”.
Khan made an appearance at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia last week alongside his wife, blasting Trump for his rhetoric toward Muslims in a speech that drew national attention.
Retired Gen. Dana Pittard, who was Khan’s brigade commander, told the Daily Beast that the captain was an “American patriot”. On Monday, Arizona Senator John McCain, who spent time as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, wrote, “I can not emphasize enough how deeply I disagree with Mr. Trump’s statement”. Khan held up a copy of the Constitution, questioned whether Trump had even read it and asserted the billionaire had sacrificed nothing.
Another Gold Star parent, Bruce Vrooman of Superior while Trump could have been more sensitive, he didn’t hear Trump say anything disparaging about the Kahn family.

“At the end of the day, despite the fact I disagree with Donald on a number of things, including his statement on this, I disagree with her on everything”, Rubio said. “She’s a very deceitful person, she lies, she cheats, no I don’t think that’s too far at all”, Trump said. “We. demand you apologize to the Khans, to all Gold Star families, and to all Americans for your offensive, and frankly anti-American comments”. I rejected the cult of personality that gave us Obama, and I’m not about to join this new one just because “Hillary’s worse”.
