Liverpool the best club for Klopp, says Mainz president

I think we have got loads of different players who can play loads of different positions.

Having impressed in a 4-0 win over Barcelona on Saturday, the Reds put in a flat performance in Germany as Klopp was beaten on his return to his former club. Klopp commented on the situation after the game, hinting that he might dip into the transfer market for cover in this area of the pitch. With their trademark “tiki taka” style, Barcelona retained possession for long periods but couldn’t make it count against an energetic and determined Liverpool team.

Philippe Coutinho then curled an effort wide after shrugging off the attentions of Aleix Vidal and Mignolet denied Suarez as an entertaining, end-to-end first half came to an end.

Mane scored Liverpool’s opener in the game and notched an assist when his cross was deflected into the Barcelona goal by defender Javier Mascherano, moments which proved his unpredictability according to Lallana.

As you’d expect after being humiliated 4-0, Liverpool fans were absolutely furious on Twitter.

“Of course I am happy with the result and with a lot of parts of the game”.

“I could be sitting here today when we had lost 4-0”.

“After the first goal, there were a number of chances that we had, a lay-off for Luis [Suarez] from Arda [Turan]”. That can happen against Barcelona.

The Liverpool defender also has his own personal targets this term, he added: “I’m going to try and play all the games, stay fit and score some goals and get some assists as well”.

“It’s helpful too because of the things you can learn”.

“But I am not in the mood to say this is our final shape”.

“We have to work hard to arrive at our best level because the Supercopa de Espana is coming up, so we have to work hard to prepare”.

“I knew straight away what he was about”.
