Robinson trespassed on school property and was caught.

Mississippi State has not confirmed the incident transpired as Robinson says, according to Bonner’s report, and Mullen has yet to comment on the situation.

The Mississippi State coach denied calling the police on his former running back for trespassing on the school’s track, despite the fact Robinson claimed it was Mullen.

“Last night at 9:10 p.m., a member of our staff saw a auto parked on the track and called campus police to report it”, football spokesperson Bill Martin tweeted.

Mississippi State also released a statement on the situation.

Robinson last played for MSU in 2014. Robinson announced he was turning pro in the lead up to the game and would be skipping his senior season.

Robinson played for Mullen from 2012-2014 and racked up almost 2,000 yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground. He ran for 1,203 yards and scored 12 total touchdowns that year. He is now a free agent. The Clarion Ledger’s Michael Bonner writes that the timing “didn’t sit well with the program”.

Robinson declared for the NFL Draft with one year of eligibility remaining, and he did it on the morning of Mississippi State’s appearance in the in the Orange Bowl on New Year’s Eve 2014. It’s not clear just what happened here, but it’s clear that this is odd.
