UEFA lists Everton defender John Stones in Manchester City’s European squad
Williams has established himself as one of the Premier League’s better defenders in recent years, and played a big role in helping Wales reach the semi-finals of Euro 2016 earlier this summer. Until the Football Association fines a club and/or manager for tampering, this will continue relentlessly.

Everton thwarted Chelsea’s persistent attempts to sign Stones last season.
Neither of those players has looked assured, and City is still heavily reliant on injury-prone captain Vincent Kompany.
One eagle eyed fan spotted that the England centre half has already been registered in City’s squad for the qualifying round of the Champions League.
Stones’s name appeared in City’s Champions League squad which was published on the UEFA website hours before the transfer was confirmed. However, the club are trying to keep their sense of humour about it.
“The player has not signed a contract with the club yet”.
“I think it’s 110 per cent the right decision to come and play under him”.

It is tough to say whether Bony coming to Everton would speed up the process of Lukaku being transferred out of the club, but it certainly would not help the situation.
“John Stones might be suited to a team that doesn’t come under pressure a lot week in, week out”, he said.

The sheer ridiculousness of the whole fiasco has me shaking my head this morning. “We need to win games and I’m sure that’s what will happen”. I’ve been following the footsteps of pre-season and hopefully we can hit the ground running and get off to a good start.
