The Smiths’ ‘Meat Is Murder’ Is Now an 8-Bit Video Game
The Smiths have teamed with PETA to create This Beautiful Creature Must Die, a vintage arcade-style interpretation of the band’s classic 1985 song “Meat Is Murder”. “This game is the biggest social crusade of all, as we safeguard the weak and helpless from violent human aggression”.

Here’s something that makes both ideal sense while sounding like an article from The Onion or The Hard Times: PETA have teamed with The Smiths to make 8-bit video game “This Beautiful Creature Must Die” that’s based around the song “Meat is Murder“.
At its core, the game is extremely simple to understand: Users click chickens, cows, turkeys, and pigs in four quadrants as they descend toward spinning blades of death, all while avoiding clicking bombs. There’s even an 8-bit rendition of “Meat is Murder” as the score. “You don’t get that from Pokémon Go”.
Morrissey, a longtime vegan and supporter of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), hopes the game will inspire more people to adopt meat-free diets.
Morrissey also told News.com.au that there is only one thing left in The Smiths’ vaults that could be put on any future reissues, but he doesn’t own a copy of it.

When speaking about the game, the 57-year-old vegan singer couldn’t resist a dig at another (sort of) animal-related gaming phenomenon.
