United Jihad Council (UJC), an umbrella group of over a dozen militants outfits based in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) has lambasted Pakistan for welcoming union home minister Rajnath Singh and called for snapping diplomatic ties with New Delhi.
In another development, India asked Pakistan to step up vigil and effectively check cross-border infiltration to prevent terrorist activities and clamp down on drugs smuggling during talks between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers which ended in Lahore on Thursday.
“If we make system of Bait-ul-Maal a success, I swear that no Kashmiri will sleep empty stomach”, he said.
People in Neelum valley in Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PaK) on Friday took to the streets to protest against rigged July 21 elections, which was won by Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party.
In previous meetings as well, India has participated at Home Minister and Home Secretary level, he noted.
“The meeting also provides an opportunity for us to underline the high importance we attach to achieving forward movement on security cooperation in the region”.
“The meeting was held in a cordial and cooperative atmosphere”.
The Pakistan Prime Minister has vowed to raise this issue at every global platform and provide all sort of support to the Kashmiris. “The world community needs to stand up against terrorism and Pakistan”, he added.
India’s army said on Saturday that two rebels and two soldiers were killed in an overnight gun battle close to the ceasefire line dividing Kashmir between India and Pakistan, as a curfew continued to be enforced in parts of Indian-held Kashmir.
