Michael Phelps won the 200-meter butterfly on Tuesday night in Rio, the 20th gold medal of his historic Olympic career. The event has always been one of Phelps’ best, and now he’ll look to cap off his incredible career by defending his title yet again.

The internet went insane over Phelps’ face, but on Tuesday, Phelps got his ultimate revenge on Clos when he took home gold in the event.

It was Phelps’ 12th individual gold medal – a feat that puts him in elite, historic company.

This time, it was Phelps out front – barely – while Le Clos could only manage a fourth-place showing.

There were a lot of head games being played between Michael Phelps and South Africa’s Chad le Clos, who beat him in the event four years ago in London.

Late Tuesday, he beat Japan’s Masato Sakai to take the 200m butterfly and then anchored the USA 4x200m freestyle relay team to victory.

When it was done, Phelps simply sat on the starting block, thoroughly exhausted.
