Germany is on high alert after two Islamist attacks by two asylum seekers in July that killed only the attackers.

Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere will propose new security measures on Thursday, including speedier deportations and waiving doctor-patient confidentiality in some cases, German media reported.
German police carried out a series of raids early Wednesday at locations associated with three suspected supporters of Daesh (the Islamic State group), the federal prosecutor’s office said.
It said German authorities had received a tip-off about the man from a prison in the neighbouring state of North Rhine-Westphalia. One of them is suspected of providing financial and logistical support to the terrorist group, a spokeswoman said. He said that no arrests had been made so far.
Meanwhile, German authorities yesterday arrested a man suspected of involvement in violence in Syria, a move triggered by the detention last week of a Syrian asylum-seeker who was suspected of planning an attack.
The interior ministry of the state of North-Rhine Westphalia said in a statement, “Investigations conducted thus far have found no evidence of a concrete threat” from the 24-year-old.

Both SWR and Bild said that authorities were investigating a possible attack at the start of the season of Germany’s top soccer league, the Bundesliga, on August 26. He said they were part of a long-running investigation.
