Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk Gets a First Teaser Promising Epic WWII Drama

The film which was about the struggles of the British Military as they evacuated from Dunkirk in 1940 was Nolan’s biggest project after Interstellar in 2014.

The trailer was leaked online after someone recorded it a movie theater, but then Warner Bros. made a decision to release the high quality version.

The movie is set between May 27 and June 4,1940, more than a year before the Pearl Harbor attack prompted the United States’ official entrance into World War II.

Plus, we still don’t know the name of Harry’s character!

The art of the teaser, let alone a full theatrical trailer, is a hard feat.

The film, directed by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight), looks intensely dramatic from the trailer.

Dunkirk will tell the story of the Dunkirk evacuation during World War II.

It was back in May that Warner Bros. announced that Christopher Nolan had started shooting Dunkirk in France, and now the first teaser trailer is finally here. The film has a newcomer, Fionn Whitehead, in the lead with Harry Styles, One Direction’s singer also making his debut.

The footage shown in the teaser trailer certainly peaks every Nolan fan’s interest.

They’re not visible in the teaser, but the film stars Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, James D’Arcy, and something called Harry Styles. Nolan is directing from a script he wrote himself, and his regular collaborator Hans Zimmer is writing the film’s score.

Dunkirk will open on July 21, 2017.
