Customs agents in Nogales seize drugs from shoes, body cavity
The first incident occurred early in the morning when officers at the Dennis DeConcini crossing referred a 27-year-old resident of Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, for a secondary inspection of her Jeep SUV.

After a CBP narcotics detection canine alerted to the presence of drugs under her clothing, officers found condom filled with more than a quarter of a pound of cocaine, worth almost $3,000, hidden in a body cavity. “We have to be more vigilant with pedestrians because they carry smaller amounts”. CBP officers arrested the driver and the case was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations special agents for further investigation. The positive test allowed officers to completely open up the candle.
LOS ANGELES -U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Field Operation officers from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) stationed at an Ontario air cargo facility discovered crystal methamphetamine concealed within a false cavity of a hollowed out candle, on August 3rd.
Officers also found almost 48 pounds of cocaine, valued in excess $540,000 in a vehicle driven by a 26-year-old resident of Nogales, Sonora, Mexico.
Officers seized the drugs and vehicle. CBP officers screen all people, vehicles and goods entering the United States while facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel.

It weighed just over one and a half pounds and has a street value of about 23-thousand dollars.
