Alyssa Dominguez, 21, of San Diego died after attending the Hard Summer Music Festival in Fontana, Calif. on Sunday July 31, 2016.
Over the weekend we reported that Kenani Kaimuloa, a 20-year-old who attended EDC Vegas in June, died as a result of “combined MDMA (ecstasy) and cocaine intoxication with other significant conditions, including environmental heat stress”, according to a report from the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner. The causes of death have not yet been determined, pending a coroner’s report.
This is the first time the festival was held at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana after negative attention for similar electronic dance events just west in Pomona sent organizers looking for a new venue.
Two of the deaths happened on Saturday, while the third occurred on Sunday; Boatwright also said that the hot weather-which was in the 90s throughout the weekend-may have contributed to their occurrence. The causes of death are still being investigated by officials. “Our sincerest thoughts and condolences are with their family and friends”.
The event previously was held at the FAIRLEX in POMONA, but it was moved after two people died of possible drug-related causes at HARD SUMMER a year ago.
Hard Summer spokesperson Alexandra Greenberg said the deaths were distressing. “Everything was out in the open”.
Ghaemi, who said she was sober and had not consumed drugs, looked to her left at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday and saw a police officer attempting to give a woman CPR on a patch of grass in the parking lot.
L.A. County supervisors stopped short of an all-out rave ban on county property this year. The Cow Palace in San Francisco banned them in 2010.

Some say the solution to such tragedies lies in treating drug use as more of a medical concern rather than a criminal one. If you would like to discuss another topic, look for a relevant article.
