BYU gymnastics celebrated Team USA’s gold medal victory at an Olympic viewing party Tuesday night.

The Americans finished with a total of 184.897 points to easily outdistance silver medalist Russian Federation, which had 176.688 points. China trailed the Russians by just 0.685 of a point to finish with bronze. It would make her one of the oldest women’s gymnasts ever to compete for the USA, if she made a decision to, but the widespread belief is that Raisman won’t be at the 2020 Olympics as a competitor.
It is day five of the 2016 Olympic games in Rio De Janeiro and team U.S.A.is simply the best in the world right now.
Starting in 2020, teams will be pared down to four.
After the final score is announced, the USA women huddle together and cheer, led by Raisman, “We are the Final Five!”.
The five girls – Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, Madison Kocian and Aly Raisman – caught up with Us Weekly and other reporters after their historic win and opened up about how they got there. Biles had the top score in the all-around qualifier with Raisman second.
Raisman and Biles will compete Thursday in the women’s all-around competition.
