US make quick work of China

They have crisscrossed the country, delivering basketball blowouts from coast to coast.

The U.S. women had a light practice before speaking to the media Wednesday evening while the men’s team had an optional shootaround after arriving on a charter flight from Houston.

They departed together Tuesday night for Brazil, a trip that’s expected to lead to gold. DeMarcus Cousins and DeAndre Jordan are among the largest guys in the tournament and should be able to overpower any of China’s front court players.

Playing sloppy and continually getting called for ticky-tack fouls, Team USA just had a miserable start to their second Olympic game. “I see disadvantages”, he said.

In my opinion United States of America will without a doubt easily take gold for olympic basketball in 2016.

Team USA bounced back from a rough first half. After unveiling their team in NY in late June, the men reported three weeks later to training camp in Las Vegas and also played exhibition games in Los Angeles, Oakland and Chicago. They were joined by Serbia and Australia who also won their first preliminary round game.

The victory is the 69th in a row for United States of America basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski. “He’s playing defense and when he gets going like that, it’s a pretty neat thing to have”.

He said he was upset about missing it, adding “that would have been my (third) if I played in that one”. But they got off to a good start in Rio.

The players are not staying in the Olympic Village with other athletes, trading in the cozy confines for a stay on a luxury cruise ship.

France has the best chance to beat US because of the National Basketball Association talent that is on their roster. So it goes up.

China finished with more turnovers (24) than made field goals (20). The Americans beat Venezuela 80-45. “To have that winning feeling, and to know what it feels like to win a gold medal and have that opposite side of that, I don’t want to feel what it’s like not winning a gold medal”.

“We’re trying to get better in every single game and you can’t, you can’t relax”.

What happened was that group was just as effective as the original starters, increasing Team USA’s 59-30 lead.

The leader of this team, Anthony, who is going for his third gold medal, is one of the all-time great Olympic players, and his command of global game was on display.
