Dan Rather blasts Donald Trump’s ‘direct threat of violence’ against Hillary Clinton
Trump’s favorite professional conspiracy theorist, Alex Jones, warned that year, “Hitler took the guns, Stalin took the guns, Mao took the guns, Fidel Castro took the guns, Hugo Chavez took the guns!”.

In a video published on the gossip site’s website, Jon went on to accuse the reporter of deliberately misinterpreting what Donald had said after they used the word “assassination”.
But Trump relies on an anti-Clinton vote even more: 54 percent of his supporters in Florida say they are backing him to oppose Clinton, with just 29 percent saying they are doing so because they like Trump.
“Nobody in that room thought anything other than what you just said”, he said.
The opening speaker, former New York Governor Rudy Giuliani, said Trump didn’t mean anything by it. As he did in the primaries, the billionaire continues to dismiss guidance from senior Republicans, in and out of his campaign.
The ad portrays Clinton as “out of touch” and at the end even offers a hashtag, #HypocriteHillary. And unfortunately for those who are backing Trump, this election is not about the Clintons. He never looks to find a way to say something more gently. Fox News’ Pat Caddell claimed the country was in a “pre-revolutionary condition”, and “on the verge of an explosion”, while Arthur Herman declared on FoxNews.com that the U.S.is “one step closer” to a looming “civil war”.
The Trump camp quickly fired back (again no pun intended) with a statement of its own. “The problem is there’s a television audience watching at home as well. They have a hard time understanding what he’s doing”.
In this scenario, if a presidential candidate were to explicitly threaten a rival it would only be likely to attract the attention of the Secret Service if they were to direct the threat at a leading Democrat or Republican candidate.
In a four-way contest, Mrs. Clinton had a 4-point lead over Mr. Trump, 44 percent to 40 percent, with Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson at 9 percent and Green Party nominee Jill Stein at 4 percent.
Frustrated GOP officials responded by calling financier Carl Icahn to help persuade Trump to shift his approach. Trump was going to kick off the week with an extensive speech on the economy at the Detroit Economic Club.
At a later rally in Fayetteville, North Carolina Trump avoided addressing his controversial comments.
“If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks”.
“Donald Trump represents practically everything I was taught not to be, and taught our daughter not to be”, Shays said of the Republican presidential nominee, in remarks released by Clinton’s campaign.
“It suggests either a very bad-taste reference to political assassination and an attempt at humor, or an incredible insensitivity”, he told CNN.

The Secret Service – which is tasked with protecting both Trump and Clinton – said it “is aware of the comments”, but did not say whether they merited an investigation, which some Democratic lawmakers have called for. Trump dismissed the group as part of the Washington establishment that he blames for numerous United States’ problems.
