Looks like there’s no intermixing of players for this game. “(18 quintillion planets) is a huge number”. Since hilightnotes effectively skipped the part of the game’s tutorial that gives you a hyperdrive blueprint – and since it seems like the game doesn’t think they’ve progressed far enough to start generating other ships or merchants with hyperdrives – they’re effectively stuck in that one system.

But how precisely does that work?
While speaking to the Daily Star, Hello Games founder Sean Murray said that powerful hardware doesn’t only upgraded textures or a higher frame rate, it means a drastic change in experience.

You will nearly never encounter another real life player in No Man’s Sky. The first thing you see is a ship that needs to be prepared, so as soon as you see that, you’re prompted to look for certain elements and supplies that will help you fix your ship and travel the rest of the planet. If you love space exploration and randomly traversing around on planets to harvest material or discover new locations and species, you might enjoy your time with No Man’s Sky.
Resource collecting is rather easy, as every world has an abundance of specific minerals such as copper etc.

Anyway, that’s just one example of the alien lifeforms I named in my first night with No Man’s Sky. Others sepculated that the feature is still in development and will be released in a patch.
