Gov. Walker’s approval rating stays at 38% in new poll

The new poll shows 65 percent of registered voters have an unfavorable view of Trump, a Republican.

Among Trump supporters, 61 percent said stopping Clinton was their main reason for voting for Trump, Quinnipiac found.

The poll was conducted August 4-7 with 805 registered voters. It has a 3.3 percentage point margin of error.

Wisconsin, which has historically supported Democratic presidential candidates, is a state where Republicans have had some recent success – with Gov. Scott Walker winning two statewide gubernatorial races, as well as his own recall election. Clinton’s unfavorable rating is at 53 percent.

In July, Feingold was up 5 points among likely voters and 7 points among registered voters. With registered voters, the race is at 49% Feingold, 43% Johnson. That’s up 16 percentage points from his recent low in December of past year. As the Washington Post noted before the Marquette poll came out, Republican incumbent senators are faring about eight points better than Trump in 11 closely watched states.

Seventy percent of Americans say that the country is divided on the most important values, while only 27 said they feel the country is in agreement on these values. That’s consistent with what it has been since he began running for president while overseeing a hard state budget early past year. One in six said they should be required to leave.
