Trump Doubles Down on Criticism of Khan Family

An ongoing feud between Donald Trump and the Muslim family of a fallen American soldier has sparked the formation of a social media campaign that seeks to empower Muslim-American women.

Catherine Byrne, the mother of Raymond Harmon, who is now deployed in the Persian Gulf, asked Pence about Trump’s treatment of Muslim parents Khizr and Ghazala Khan, whose son, a decorated Army veteran, was killed in Iraq in 2004.

McCain and other Republican leaders have said that Humayun Khan sacrificed for his country, and his family doesn’t deserve to be questioned by Trump.

His lousy attempts to sympathize with the Khans did little to negate his inflammatory comments, and those on the right are starting to turn against Trump. Let us know what you think by taking our poll, commenting on the story and joining the conversation on Facebook!

Khan’s father, Khizr, spoke at last week’s Democratic National Convention, where he now famously held up a pocket Constitution and offered to lend it to Trump. Due to the disastrous decisions of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, a once stable Middle East has now been overrun by ISIS. “How do you tolerate his disrespect?” said Catherine Byrne, Air Force mom. “First of all, he said the Khan family looked like fantastic people in that interview … he called him a hero so many different times”.

“Donald Trump: You’re asking Americans to trust you with their future”. “I can also tell you if you go to any national cemetery, especially Arlington, you’re going to see crescent moons there”.

Those comments sparked a further firestorm, but Ghazala Khan said she wasn’t offended.

The poll showed Clinton with a 10-point lead over Trump, with 49% of 1,022 registered voters saying that they back the Democratic nominee.

Retired Gen. Dana Pittard, who was Khan’s brigade commander, told the Daily Beast that the captain was an “American patriot”.

When asked on CBS if his father is capable of apologizing, Eric Trump called his dad “a fighter” who was “attacked viciously”.

After Trump responded to Khan’s DNC speech last week, McCain released a statement condemning Trump’s rhetoric about Khan family. While his grieving wife stood next to him, Khizr expressed the frustration and discrimination felt by Muslim communities across the United States.

On President Barack Obama, who said Tuesday that Trump was “unfit” to be president, the mogul told WJLA, “He’s a bad president”.
